The special training event, which drew the attendance of 50 middle school English teachers from Guizhou, aimed to help them further improve their teaching capabilities and reshape their educational philosophies through standard interpretation of English courses, curriculum design, psycholinguistics and cognitive linguistics.
It was the third time that the CCTF had held such a training activity for teachers from southwestern Guizhou Province.
During the training session, attendees were also instructed about how to fully utilize the concept of drama in education (DIE) to provide students with diverse linguistic scenarios and bolster their interest in learning English.

"I looked forward to the training session since I found that its curricular content would answer lots of my previous perplexities in the class before I came to Beijing," said Wang Liyan, adding that she now has a clearer idea about her future in teaching.
Wang Tingting, another participant, said that the training session enabled her to acquire teaching skills and advanced educational philosophies and that she will share her study experience in Beijing with other fellow teachers and streamline her class to make it more organized.
Li Chaoying, a veteran English teacher with 26 years of experience, said that the training helped her acquire a better understanding of previous teaching experience and methods and master new concepts as well as skills.

Many teachers said that the training session has not only expanded their horizon but also reshaped their vision of the profession.
"Professor Mo Jialin in her lecture showed to us a picture with incomplete English words in disorder and explained that about five percent of people have been found to be with dyslexia," said Wang Tingting. She also learned how to communicate with students in proper and effective ways. For example, it is advisable for teachers to find ways of how to help students hand in their homework on time rather than merely questioning them why they failed to do so.
Li Chaoying said that the training has helped her realize that it is of great importance for all teachers to take into account specific conditions of each student and encourage children to take a step-by-step approach before catching up with their peers.

Wang Tingting said that Miss Shi, a veteran teacher of the training course, patiently responded to questions and shared with them her decade-long teaching experience as well as her personal thoughts.
Wang Liyan agreed with Lei Jun, a lecturer of the training course, that education is not only a process of imparting knowledge but also a process of fostering exceptional talents. She often joins her students to play table tennis, chat with them like a friend, and praise them for their remarkable achievements in academic studies.
The teachers all agreed that they should strive to show their love and care toward each child in addition to mastering more fresh teaching methods and philosophies.
